O197 is the complete renovation of a two-level apartment near the Englischer Garten in Munich.

The existing layout was opened and reorganised to create a more continuous relationship between kitchen, dining and living spaces. The bathrooms were completely replanned and the architectural language extended through new surfaces, doors and built-in elements.

A monolithic kitchen, bespoke joinery and a restrained combination of mineral surfaces and timber give the apartment its material continuity, while the green stair introduces a deliberate counterpoint.

Details are kept flush and quiet throughout, allowing the spaces to read as a connected whole.
